Foreign Language Literature in the Online Mode: A Quasi-Experimental Study with College EFL Learners in Saudi Arabia

The sudden outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent drastic changes in education sector led to a great deal interest being generated educational research. corpus so added covered wide range issues that mushroomed new scenario, as far language research goes, there were not many areas did invoke forays. However, teaching learning literature courses has remained largely virgin territory one which this study explores. Using mixed-methods approach, examines perspectives satisfaction EFL learners teachers at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University (IMBSIU), Saudi Arabia, English online mode with standard platforms University. This was followed by collection quantitative data from both (N= 30) students 50) using surveys after an interventional period six weeks during lessons delivered purely mode. Data collected via validated questionnaire supported previous studies. Results showed reported their due engagement classes. Similarly, class IMBSIU have positive attitudes high on studying Furthermore, gains terms (i) Efficacy materials resources; ii. Opportunities for autonomous learning; iii. interaction; i. Learner Professional satisfaction. outcomes are likely reflect efficacy pedagogical practices help enhance outcomes. Based these findings, proposes pertinent recommendations how tertiary setting might be utilized enhanced over time, even when becomes thing past.
